Yukon Quest

So yesterday was the start of 31st Yukon Quest, and since it was starting in Fairbanks this year the UAF Wildlife Society decided to make an unofficial event of it! The Yukon Quest is a 1,000 mile dog sled race that runs from Fairbanks to Whitehorse, Yukon. It is kinda a big deal, and these people are a little bit crazy! Seeing all the sled dogs before the race was such a cool experience. They are pretty much adorable, and a lot smaller then you would think! My main mental image of sled dogs is from Balto, so I was thinking small wolf size. I mean who wasn't?!

I mean we all remember this! Epic!

Regardless, it was a great experience to go out and see them start the race! It seemed like half the town was there!
